750 Million Deposits is Added in the Banking System in a Year

Kathmandu : In the banking system, 750 billion rupees of deposits have been added during one year. According to Central Bank, by the end of Push months of  the current fiscal year, there is total deposits of 6 trillion 131 billion rupees in banks and financial institutions whereas at the same period of the last financial year, the total deposits in banks and financial institutions was 5 trillion 360 billion rupees. A total of 770 billion rupees deposits have been added in one year.

During this period, the total deposit of commercial banks is 5 trillion 429 billion rupees. Which is 712 billion rupees more than last financial year. During the same period of the last financial year, the total deposits of commercial banks were 4 trillion 717 billion rupees.

The total deposits of development banks have reached 584 billion rupees and the deposits of finance companies have reached 109 billion rupees. The country’s economy is still going strong. Investors are feeling that there is no investment climate due to which the number of depositors who keep interest in the bank is increasing.

The number of deposit accounts in the banking sector has reached over 53.5 million Rupees, which has increased by 5.225 million from last financial year. During the same period of last financial year, 48.324 million Rupees of deposit accounts were in operation.

By the end of the year, 45 million 911 thousand 42 commercial banks, 6 million 802 thousand 570 development banks and 836 thousand 694 finance company accounts are in operation.
