NIA Chairman Sharad Ojha Calls for Submission of SOPs

March 23rd, 2025

Kathmandu — Sharad Ojha, the newly appointed Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), has directed all internal departments to submit their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in writing to the provincial offices.

Ojha instructed all department heads to formally document the SOPs to ensure uniformity and efficiency in departmental operations. The written SOPs will also be submitted to the Chairman for review.

Currently operating under an executive chairmanship system, the authority has been functioning through the Chairman’s direct chain of command. However, Chairman Ojha has expressed his intention to decentralize operations by delegating authority to lower levels.

The NIA oversees 18 departments and six provincial offices. The move to implement formal SOPs is expected to enhance operational clarity and improve coordination across the organization.
