Neco Insurance Invests Rs 6.44 Billion Across Diverse Sectors
Kathmandu -Neco Insurance Company Limited has made significant investments totaling Rs 6.44 billion in various sectors by the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
According to data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority, the company has prioritized term deposits in ‘A’ class banks, allocating Rs 4.49 billion, the largest portion of its investments. Additionally, Rs 673 million has been invested in term deposits of ‘B’ class banks, and Rs 133 million in term deposits of ‘C’ class banks.
In the stock market, Neco Insurance has invested Rs 622.2 million in shares of listed companies and Rs 4.5 million in other promoter shares. However, the company has refrained from investing in preference shares of banks, shares of investment companies, and shares of unlisted companies.
The company has also directed funds toward bonds and debentures, with an investment of Rs 349.7 million in listed companies. Furthermore, Rs 112 million has been allocated to sectors such as agriculture, solar energy, roads, education, and health.
Additional investments include Rs 56.5 million in citizens’ investment funds and mutual funds, and Rs 2 million in other miscellaneous sectors.
