LIC Nepal Achieves Record Growth in Sudurpaschim and Karnali Province

Kathmandu – Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Limited has recorded impressive business growth in the geographically remote provinces of Sudurpaschim and Karnali. Despite the regions’ challenging terrain and limited access, LIC Nepal’s agents have successfully expanded life insurance services to thousands, thanks to consistent training, field support, and agent incentives.
In the last fiscal year, Janaki Joshi from LIC Nepal’s Dhangadhi branch emerged as the top-performing agent, conducting life insurance business worth Rs 10.5 million and selling 338 policies. Her performance not only topped the Sudurpaschim and Karnali regions but also highlighted her as one of the hardest-working and resilient agents in the company.
Dilli Gadtola followed as the second-highest seller with Rs 8.72 million in business and 139 policies, while Suresh Bohara closely trailed with Rs 8.7 million and 155 policies sold.
According to LIC Nepal, 16 agents in these two provinces sold more than 100 policies in a year. Among them, Tulsi Shahi sold 252 policies, and Dharmananda Joshi sold 162—reinforcing the dedication of LIC’s network in underserved regions.
The overall business in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces increased by 30 percent compared to the previous fiscal year, while the number of insured policies rose by 7 percent.
Lalit Iyer, the Provincial Head for Sudurpaschim and Karnali, emphasized the impact of agent-focused strategies. Agents credited Iyer’s leadership, especially his commitment to regular training and problem-solving, as a major factor behind their improved performance.
