Citizen Life Insurance Settles NPR 14.8 Million Insurance Claim
Kathmandu — Citizen Life Insurance Company Limited’s Bhairahawa branch has settled an insurance claim worth NPR 14.89 million in favor of Bhagwati Khatri, a resident of Ward No. 13, Siddharthanagar Municipality.
The claim followed the tragic death of local businessman and social worker Tej Bahadur Khatri, who died in a road accident on March 12, 2026. Khatri had purchased a life insurance policy with an annual advance payment plan valued at NPR 7 million through the company’s Bhairahawa branch.
In accordance with the terms of the insurance agreement, the company paid a total of NPR 14,898,963 to the beneficiary, providing substantial financial support to the bereaved family.
The claim amount was handed over to Bhagwati Khatri during a formal ceremony attended by the company’s regional manager, branch chief, agency managers, and members of the local community.
Family members present at the event included the deceased’s elder brother Khim Bahadur Khatri, younger brother Bhoj Bahadur Khatri, and sons Tushar Khatri and Bobby Khatri.
Addressing the gathering, Khim Bahadur Khatri thanked the company for processing the claim in a timely manner during a difficult period for the family. He noted that the support had provided much-needed relief and emphasized the importance of insurance awareness.
Regional Manager Naresh Sigdel also spoke about the importance of insurance and its role in financial risk management, while paying tribute to the late Tej Bahadur Khatri.
Citizen Life Insurance said the prompt settlement of the claim reflects the company’s continued commitment to customer service and support.
